    MT-2500 update from 1.8 to 2.2??

I have an MT-2500 that is on firmware/software 1.8. What does it take to get this scanner updated to the latest 2.2 firmware/software? Lastly, what are the benefits that exist in the 2.2 update? Is the Snap-On dealer the only folks that can perform this update to the scanner?

V 1.1 or V 2.2 refer to the the firmware on the main board of the scanner. There is NO relation between that number and the VCI or TSI cartridge. Unfortunately with that said, there is no way to update the firmware on the main board.

Yes, I completely understand the difference between the software on the cartridge vs. the firmware of the scanner's mainboard. What I think I heard you say is that the firmware on the scanner's mainboard is not "flashable" or updateable in any manner, short of buying another MT2500 scanner? Is my understanding correct?

Lastly, can you tell me (or possibly point me to a Web site) where I can review what the actual updates were between the different MT2500 firmware versions, such as between version 1.8 to version 2.2?

the 2.2 has the screen you can see in the dark; the 1.8 does not, thats the only difference you will notice. you can go to ebay if you want to purchase the 2.2
