I put on a timing belt component set of a well known American Belt name . The timing belt tensioner failed and back of belt showed wear and some damage . Failed after a few weeks and I had to replace the belt and tensioner. Lucky it didn't jump time.

I've had a couple of problems lately also. Like you, luckily no engine damage. Kind of makes me want to stay with OEM components. The only thing I like is, aftermarket pays labor claims for up to 1 year after initial installation. Even though I don't like to do things twice. Have had more problems with new aftermarket water pumps.
