    MT2500 cartridge questions

    Hi all,

I have a MT2500 I bought in the early 90's, currently I have the cartridges through 1994 (I believe), and have used it quite a bit for my '89 IROC, but now I have a 1999 Plymouth and just picked up a 1997 Camaro Z/28.

Sometime in the past, I picked up a "through 2000" domestic primary cartridge.

Can I just look for a "through 2000" troubleshooter cartridge, or will a "through 1999" cartridge work with it?

Do I need to do anything else to use the newer cartridges in my scanner, besides just plugging them in?

    Thanks.

Not sure' but thought some early units, the PROM needed to be updated or it would melt or would not go past Y2K, or the cartridges jumped from 8bit to16bit memory , or might have been needed to accept black programmable cartridges

The primary and troubleshoter cartridges do not need to match. The only difference you'll notice is that the Troubleshooter Menu choice will not show up on the newer years it doesn't cover.
