This one? That's the programming solution I see in the future for some time.

How do you like it BTW? How often are you using it?

I have one of the original ones not pretty blue like that one.
      I like it
I did 4 last week, 2 Chrysler and 2 ford.
Don't do enough to spend the grand for gm
only do the ones that the mfg. web site allows 1 day subscription.
BTW i went on a ride along with my tech rep and happened to stop by our local UTI campus and was looking at their MODIS' and noticed they have an additional usb port(b the small one i believe ) on the side next to the cf. How come I don't have that?

        Left grip firewire port

This firewire port is on later main boards. This is used for host hookup during new tool setup. (ie. programming and initialzation on the line etc.)

        Best wishes,
        Boyd

It does look like a firewire port doesn't it... It's actually a mini USB port. More on that later.

You do not need to use the mini USB port. I upgraded to the new Modis when it came out, about $1,700.00. However the mini USB port is right on the main board, one wrong move and you could rip it right out even with the anti-stress clip that comes with 7.2. I use my CF card and a card reader and copy it right to ShopStream. I think its faster and safer this way.

I think it may be more than that, but your getting the faster processing power etc., not just mini USB as you probably know. Your best bet is to see your dealer or DSD, or call 1800-424-7726. They can also give you a complete list of features so you can determine if this is right for you. If I can get a list I'll post it.
