verus software shuts down after 12.2

Well new bugs in 12.2 I have scanned a 1998 VW jetta, when changing from modules or from codes to data scanner software( used to be called atlas) gives an error and closes. The software must then be restarted. Was using it on a 2004 prius and same thing. Tried it on a 2007 HHR and same error is happening. I will take a snapshot on the next issue...
I guess we get new features added but along with those we get more headaches....Maybe it will be the end of the line of updates for my verus and invest in something else...The changes made are really nice, they are trying but it doesn't present itself nice when you add good features but create more issues. Oh and another side note no 2011 dodge coverage....lets see what the future brings...

A Screen shot or picture of the error would be great. If this is not happening on all vehicles could you please Post Year, Make, Model and Vin of the vehicle that do have the problem. This will help the Software guys get to the cause of your problem faster.

    Thanks!

Steve I will have the info for the vehicles today if possible. It slipped my mind in not taking a snap shot. I will try and duplicate it today.

Well Vin numbers are no go. I thought the verus would save them but it did not. I will try and duplicate the issue next time I use it.

sure enough. the verus just froze and will not boot. all this after the update...took the battery out for 15min. then tried to reboot an nothing. would freeze in the verus boot screen. called tech support, had to reformat and lost all my saved snapshots and vehicle info...my lucky day i see...

Speaking of that. Some one posted a special tool to down load. I forgot who it was but it was in 1 of the threads here. I downloaded it and installed it on a USB. It backs up your info and then if you have an issue you can restore the info.

I had to send a unit in for Software issue in 11.4 and when they re-loded the software all the records were gone. I plugged in the USB and restored the records that were there previously. All the records were put back... I was so Happy that it worked!!!!

1 thing you can not do is transfer the records from 1 Verus to another... At least I was not successful in trying it....

If I can find the thread I will post it up.

                Verus Back Up Tool !!!

I believe this is the tool I downloaded...

From this thread.... 2nd post response Posted by jrorl63

Hope this helps in the future!!!

Now that I think about it, I should be doing this more often just in case... It's better to only lose a few days Vs. the Whole Database... It only takes a few seconds Too its really fast!!!

If I had to guess, this is because the backup tool also does your license file, which is of course different for each machine.

So far no issues, might have been a corrupt update. Lets see if I have any issues this coming week.

You get the same silver box comes up "Application Launcher.exe has a problem and needs to close"? Or close to that, or is yours a different message?

I recently traded in my old Modis for a used Verus. All the latest updates installed. This is not a wireless Verus, but one of the earlier models that uses a cable to connect to the DLC. Today I tried to open the scanner module and had an error message that basically said that there was a problem and the application had to shut down. Same for OBDII direct, and Component Tests. Tried to open those modules and the same error message came up. The message requests that a message be sent back to Snap On relaying the nature of the application error, to find a solution for the future if the error occurs again. I can still use the lab scope graphing module, and get online to use Mitchell On Demand 5, Identifix, and IATN with no problem. It appears to be only with the scanner/OBDII direct/Component Testing that it gives the error message and wants to shut the application down.

Anybody seen this and have any ideas? I knew my Modis a lot better than I know this machine. Any help or ideas to try will be appreciated. Thanks.
