Mazda Calibrations

Hey guys, had a 2004 Mazda RX8 in today. There is a PCM reflash for starting issues. My question is how do you determine if a mazda has the latest reflash or not?? I used my PTP2 and got the cailbration number in the pcm (also got the same number using generic obd) and it is different then the calibration number from the TSB. I paid my $30 and installed the mazda software. I attempted the program but I was informed that the latest software is already installed and it showed me the calibration number from the TSB.

I find it strange that the number shows up different in Mode 9 then when the mazda program is used. Is there any way to look up mazda calibrations? Im assuming not as I've looked through their site pretty heavily

Ouch I guess no one has come across this yet? Maybe just not a lot of need to flash Mazda's for updates yet.

I had an rx8 in awhile back that had as sticker listing the update on it. Dunno if they have calibration lookup by vin like gm does or not
