    GM Tech 2

Just want to know. Does the Tech 2 perform anti-theft relearn without a subscription? Or do u have to buy one before anything? How about diagnostics? I have seen the cards that you have to buy, but not sure if anti-theft is something you have to buy in order to do. I know with the PTPII I have to buy the subscription before being able to do anti-theft, does the Tech 2 require this as well?

I think that most PK3 vehicles need to have the PCM/ECM and Theft Control Modules programmed through the SPS. PK3 key relearns can still be done using the 10 and 30 minute methods. PKII vehicles can have the keys relearned using a 30 minute no scanner method or 10 minutes with Tech 2.

Thanks for the fast replies! I was thinking like a 2008 Tahoe I did. Changed the PCM and had to buy the subscription to program the anti-theft. Unless those u can do the 30 minute dance and I paid for nothing?

The only thing Tech 2 does for theft relearn, is cut down on 10 minute key cycles to one, instead of 3 10 minute key cycles. And you do have to have a SPS subscription to access this because it uses Vin to do this.
