So anyone seen one? what does it have that makes it better than the actual verus versions?

I discussed here http://productforum.autorepairdata.c...ead.php?t=5824 then I would certainly be interested. You can expect the reputation of your business to be no better than the cheapest item or service you are willing to sell. - Wheel -
Ok, lets see what I remember about it.. Lighter 4.7 lbs. Removable 4 channel lab scope that can be tethered with a 9 ft USB cable. Not wireless. If you want wireless, you need to add the 2 channel M2 Meter from the Verdict. Faster processor, 1.6 MHZ and 2 GB Ram. New technology screen, scrolls very nice. Has the Verdict thumb pad added. Has a 2mp camera. There are some enhancements from software side of things also that will be out in 12.4. Lots more, just don't have my spec sheet, sorry.DSDComment

Ok, lets see what I remember about it.. Lighter 4.7 lbs.
That'll help
Removable 4 channel lab scope that can be tethered with a 9 ft USB cable.
I'm not sure how useful that'll be in the real world, but at least it'll be easier to deal with and upgrade without having to deal with the entire unit, so that's a plus.
Not wireless. If you want wireless, you need to add the 2 channel M2 Meter from the Verdict.
But at least you have that option... right?
Faster processor, 1.6 MHZ and 2 GB Ram. New technology screen, scrolls very nice.
Good.
Has the Verdict thumb pad added.
A DEFINITE improvement !!!
Has a 2mp camera.
A nice extra. ...But will Verus Pro work wirelessly with the new BK 8000 borescope so that images can be viewed live?
There are some enhancements from software side of things also that will be out in 12.4.
I sure hope so. Snap On has definitely been given a lot of input both on and off these forums to greatly improve things. I sure hope some of the missing 10.2 features find their way back along with some of the other enhancements mentioned. We needed this even more than the hardware upgrades.
Lots more, just don't have my spec sheet, sorry.Last edited by Wheel; 08-13-2012, 12:18 PM.You can expect the reputation of your business to be no better than the cheapest item or service you are willing to sell. - WheelComment

Hi Gentz Love my new VERUS, Faster lighter brighter
I love my new Verus: It is lighter, thinner ( with my old VERUS I felt like carring a thick breif case) it is nice to hold something with a screen as big as the VERUS but feels like I am carring a little VERDICT) much faster nice clean and bright touch screen, Plus If I want I can still blue tooth it over to my M2 device for a wirless scope when I want to look at a sensor and dont want to connected by wires like throttle plate sensor or WSS etc.. I love my new VERUS. Try it and you will not want to go back to the old one.
Remember the old MODIS and how much faster the Avenger board was.
Well the new VERUS PRO is not only faster but also light thinner smaller with the same screen but its also easier to handle and use. Has new features such as a link to snapons most popular information site ASK-A-Tech.

From the picture I've seen of it, it looks a lot like the Verdict which may not necessarily be a bad thing.
Plus If I want I can still blue tooth it over to my M2 device for a wirless scope when I want to look at a sensor and dont want to connected by wires like throttle plate sensor or WSS etc..
How easy is it to switch back and forth between scopes? can you use them at the same time, or must you choose?
I love my new VERUS. Try it and you will not want to go back to the old one.
I'll have to reserve judgment on that til later, but I'm willing to keep an open mind.

the Verus pro is as to whether I trade my old Verus for it, try to buy it outright, or pass on it altogether and wait for the Verus ultra or equivalent.Last edited by Wheel; 08-14-2012, 01:41 PM.You can expect the reputation of your business to be no better than the cheapest item or service you are willing to sell. - WheelComment

I think I'll wait to upgrade when they build the "Verus Helmet" - a device that REALLY does it ALL, and you won't even have to lay a finger on the vehicle. The interface will meld with your mind, so you can "see, touch, hear" the interactions with the device. Since you will wear it on your skull, you still have your hands free to do whatever. It should have a 1 yottahertz 48 core processor.S. BrelandComment

One thing in question, the processor. it can very well have a 1ghz processor but how old is it? an atom processor? I think this does not make enough reason to exchange my verus.....Diagnostic Specialist, diagnostic tool specialist. You name It I have it or have used it! MasterTech since 1998.Comment

Why not just sell us the interface?
Ok I'm depressed about this Verus Pro situation. Since the scanner is now wireless bluetooth and the four channel scope can be tethered by a USB cable, (like Pico), why not let us supply our own laptop? Snap-On could have minimum standards but the end user could decide how much to spend on a laptop or tablet and what features he/she wants. Just sell us the software and S3 module and now the USB 4 channel scope and let us install the software on a tough book or whatever. Even this latest offering of the Verus Pro is outdated hardware.
I have upgraded my first gen Verus with the gig of ram and a 512GB SSD hard drive. I also have the S3 module and am please with its performance.
Just my two cents.Comment

As I mentioned before you can't sell Scanner Module + Scope Module + Software for $10K but if you include $500 tablet and call it complete system - you can.
On top of that it would be support nightmare for snap-on.
I'll give Verus Pro a try when it becomes available.Comment
