I would say "No". Scanner don't read Strategy, that I've ever seen.

      Scanners can:
      Read/Clear Codes
      Display Data
      Perform some Bi-Directional Controls
Some have some built-in Troubleshooting help

On the ford 6.0 diesels you can use obd direct, click on mode $9 read vehicle identification. at the bottom of the screen it will read pcm cal #. not all of the strategy number will be their but the first 5 will and thats what you need. most of the 2003 and early 2004 will show nothing. late 2004 to 2007 will have a number like vxcf9#####. vxcf9 is the lastest strategy number, a number like vxcf5#### would be an older strategy. hope that makes sense

So a CAL ID number is called a Strategy on a 6.0?

well yes and no joe, the calibration number is used by all the aftermarket companys like edge-superchips-sct to write a custom program or chip for the 6.0"s so they ask for your strategy number witch is the cal id. It has kinda become a slang term in the 6.0 diesel world. when we write a custom program we have to use a template in the software that has all the right files and running programs for that pcm calibration. If a truck has a calibration number like vxcf59nb.hex I know to use the template #vxcf5. If i open that pcm file and use a vxcf3 template some of the files and programs wont show -up or i cant change the program because the template is wrong. whenever ford changes a pcm/tcm calibration a differant template is needed to write custom tune"s. im guessing thats what jonesy was needing to know.

I think I was in the wrong place.I have Solus with 7.2 and am right
                  dealing with a 2006 F350 PSD 6.0L
                  1st

By looking at what you posted I am sure I was in the wrong place.
I want to think you for the help. It took me a bit to find out
how to get the images out of the scanner. I had read some where
that JPG is the better format for posting so I did a bit of edit and
                  here you go.
                  Thanks again

sean, Im not 100% sure your solus with 7.2 will show mode $09 cal ID, Ill see if i can find out. Are you wanting the calibration/stragey number to get a custom tune for your truck or to see if you have the latest flash?

Ok I think I found the data I was looking for. At least the format
is the same as what you showed. Does this look right to you?

                        Thanks for the help

yes that looks right, the vxcf9h7.hex is you your calibration/ stratigy number.
vxcf9 is the latest flash for the 6.0 diesel
