    Fuel injectors that requiring coding

I'm thinking that on non diesel applications some of these injectors could have the injector coding calculated right on the vehicles themselves by incorporating several relative fuel injector flow tests and several vehicle restarts .
As time progresses and injectors wear , or flow characteristics change over time , as long as it doesn't have a leak down issue , you could periodically perform injector cleaning and coding recalibration afterwards .

Theres no need on port fuel injection. (it could be argued its beneficial on DI)

Gasoline engines do not wear the injectors as much as diesel ones do so the lifespan calculations made using the flow rates arent required.

Also traditional diesel engines dont utilize an oxygen sensor for fueling calculations and since power output is purely fuel delivery determined on traditional diesels they need some way to refine fuel delivery calculations.
