Need a low amp clamp for my verdict. I figured before I dropped $360 for a snap-on, I would check in with you guys to see if anybody has a better option. Let me know. Thanks guys!

add me to the aes amp probe list. i've got 2 that work great. the snap on clamp is an excellent clamp, but the aes ones are a better value.Comment

Man I wish I knew about this forum before I got my verdict. Everyone on here is a big help, and it looks like I spent too much money on my clamp. So what about high amp clamps? Is it another waste of $ or can you use the low amp clamp when doing a cylinder comparison testtheres no car that i can't break.......Comment

My co-worker recently bought a SO low current probe and I wanted to compare it to the one I bought from AES Wave. I hooked them up to the fuel pump circuit on an 99 Expedition and there is literally no difference in performance:

Next time I'll try a more noisy environment, close to some coils and injectors. The SO probe might be shielded better...

Here are some of today's captures, checking injector current:
First two with my Pico, not filtered:

Verus, filters are off:

There is definitely more "activity" on the AES probe.
I don't quite know what to make of that. Is the SO probe shielded better or does it lack detail...?-Kai-
