I would need to be able to use the scanner and the meter at the same time. I want to be able to energize a device and be able to monitor the voltage. This would be able to be accomplished with split screen capability. I personally won't be giving up my SP and VP until this feature is available. I realize the verus isn't out offically yet, but it is in beta test now. This is the time to make it better now before it hits the market.

new verus platform
I may have to eat my words on my first post. Our tech rep called back and sais you can use both at the same time, scanner and meter. We are going to have a demo here soon and will find out more then. Hope I haven't misled anyone on this. -

I have a beta VERUS and I can look at scan data and component test meter at the same time. Very cool to be able to run a functional test from the scanner and see the results on the scope meter. Cause and effect relationships.Jim MoritzComment

I spoke to soon, before I had a chance to see the Verus. I retract all that I said and apologize if I misled anyone. It does allow for scanner and meter to be used at the same time. Good Job Snap-On!Comment

Does the Verus still use the same diag connectors that all the other scanners use?
are they releasing it with a newer updated software say 8.4
seems a waste to market the thing with the 8.2 we already have. or atleast offer a free update if its released with 8.2. or 8.4Comment

Verus
Hi dbarnes 5654 - Seeing is believing. So I thought you would appreciate this screenshot - Scanner and scope multitasking. Both windows are active - and can be moved, resized and configured to suit your preference.
Hey Aurora - VERUS will launch with 8.4 software. The connectors are similar style, but different -- the VERUS cables/connectors use a beefier wire inside for the greater current capacity.

the screen shot looks inpressive, but how reliable will it be? screen lock-ups and such, I dont mean to be pesamistic about the tool, but one issue will be more advanced diagnosing, better bi-directional control and programming for more modules.
The main reason I bought the Modis was for the Scope, no one can touch there scope that I have seen, I do like the fact there going with this type of platform that can be built upon on the future.
Another thing I would like to see is them getting away from the keys, do like OTC and replace them with a module, so much more convienent.Comment

Clearly the data stream is being simulated. So far I have seen no screenshots where the scope was actually being used along side of the scanner functionality.
Have you actually hooked up to a live vehicle and watched a data stream and the corresponding sensor via the scope _at the same time_? I would be interested in seeing that.
For example: Watching the data stream for the ECT and injector pulse width, then hooking up the scope to watch both ECT wires, and both wires on a single injector?
Better yet: Using a bidirectional control while watching the activity in the lab scope, at the same time?Comment

Verus screen
Hi Group,
The screen shots look nice,Also looks like a big improvement for the scope screen
My concern is how will the scope act when the scope and scanner are running at the same time with the dlc connector hooked up,will there be a ground problems with the scope like the modis has?
we need some real test captures to see if this will be an issue.

That is one of the things I have been waiting to see. When I first got my Modis that problem drove me nuts!! I eventually purchased the SIA300 on a real good deal and that did away with that problem, but it was a pain using two separate tools.
