    Verus worksheet report

Since I'm using Verus platform, I have the capability of printing a report of the vehicle. On the tech worksheet report I notice some data field was blank i.e. RO#, Trans, Engine, Mfg date, ect...I was wondering where I need to go in Verus Diagnostic Platform to enter these informations.
    Thanks

      Gentlemen,

You are looking at the tie-in info to integrate to management on what was known as shop stream. There maybe a plan to continue that concept with the Verus since it was meant to work with the toughbook integrated system that Snap On had developed for a fully integrated shop, offering service desk to tech wirless transfer of data.

We will have to wait and see.

        shopstreamconnect

I see( kmpro), makes sense. If so hopefully they will correct the canadian address issue, as it's the first place verus takes you, and you can't get any further untill you enter the requested info. also has any one else checked out shop stream connect yet? kind of like a mini identifix site. could be handy, but i think it was better as the lift here. anyone else?

You do start at the the vehicle info screen but you can bypass it if you want. The advantage to entering the VIN there, you won't have to enter it in scanner mode, component test mode and if you have shop key linked to your Verus wirless it will pull the vehicle info. on it's own and do the hot link search for related data if you have any codes.

that's what they advertised, but if you try and skip that step on mine it comes up with an error and tells you to go back and enter the info. Maybe I'm missing something? I dosen't matter that I have to start their, but it would be nice to not enter a bogus info to get to the next screen. to be fair my snap-on dealer hasn't even got his hands on one yet let alone mine as it was shipped to me direct from the ontario wharehouse. he won't get to see it untill this wednesday.

You have to start at the vehicle info screen, you cannot bypass it. Also, you made need to enter additional information in the scanner or component meter screens. Those modes may require additional information not entered in the vehicle ID screen.

If you have any vehicle info entered on the info screen from anything that has been done, in scanner mode you can choose a different vehicle and the one I am using will load the new vehicle in scanner mode.

                  unhuh

but if you want to print the info off for the customer report, it would be nice to be able to enter the right info, not to mention the time waste of doing it twice

I would have but I didn't have one to trade. I just used pico and a solus. my solus is gone, kept pico but haven't dug it out since I got my verus.

                        verus

I understand that the Verus is great tool', and from what i have see it is. but there is onething i haven't heard that it doesn't come with ignition scope intergrated and i think we are going to have to buy a box and the adapters, and it doesn't have reprograming, its optional too. but the Pegisys has all that and comes with identifix just for 6000 this OTC dealer told me and he said that we have to pay more because snap-on is not licenced.and the modis is 8000 and the verus is 9000 after tax. when are we going to get a break here? Buy Buy Buy Money Money Money while snap-0n has us jumping on one foot and then on the other having a ball at it. they know its about info and there going to take advantage of that always. there getting Richer and were getting Poor with this Game. I work for snap on not for ME and ask yourself honestly were is this going will never finish buying tools this is like playing in a casino you never WIN!!! so tell me what you think i like snap-on but i like a even deal

I've come to terms with the fact that I will alway's owe for tools, but I look very hard at what I buy(or owe for) and choose accordingly. After checking the specs for both, I believe that the Verus was the way to go for me. The scope on the verus is far advanced over what the gensys offered (And I realize the pegisys is new and not the gensys), and I figure the ignition part for the verus will come in an update or ad on. As far as I could see their was less ability for ad on's, the scope looked as bad as the gensys one (the whole reason for me having pico), and no ability for third party software on the tool. (basicly a touch screen gensys with an identifix library) You might as well keep the gensys (did't keep mine long) and get a subscription to identifix. At least the verus is a whole new platform not a atempt to revamp an old one. Just my opinion, not tring to start a war of words lol.

I've been using the Verus platform for quite sometime now, notice some pros and cons about this system. Overall opinion, I think this system will be a powerful scan tools on the market. As the Verus only been on the street for it first quarter, we all must understand that there will be alot of improvement needs to be done in order to fine tune the system to perfection; as long as Snap On developer team take the comments and suggestions into consideration to improve the system (I believe they did a good job at this over the years).

I don't think any additional hardware will be required for the Verus to perform ignition scope like functions -- I think it is a software issue. Lack of software functionality can, in time, be easily rectified. You can do ignition now, but it comes in the form of a non-refreshing parade -- just like you would get with the Pico scope for example. You would have to create your own triggers to keep the parades in the same position on the screen. It is basically like running your Modis in "Single Cylinder Ignition" mode.

As for your ending comments about tools and working to pay them off: Welcome to being a mechanic.
