    6.0 L Ford Diesel

Does a FICM have to be programmed to the vehicle when replaced. It is an 06 Ford F350. I was told it didn't need to be but customer is complaining of poor performance now.

a new ficm is blank and does need to be programed, a used one will work but it wont be right, you will get codes for the modules not being in sync. the pcm/tcm/ficm must be in sync and have the same vin and calibration programed into them.
