Is the K2 personality key the same as the K2A key?

Just wanted to know if someone could tell me if the K2 key is the same as the K2A key, I need K2A to use my new global OBD-II cartridge I got for my MT2500. Thanks.

Sorry, but K2 and K2A are different. You'll need a new one.

If it's wired differntly, then it's not the same.

I don't think that is why they do it. I think it's because cars change and they change to meet them. I prefer that they upgrade or revised keys as time goes on rather than add another one. That keeps the overall number of keys down.

Judging by the scanner you are using, you may not need the new K2a key depending on what you're scanning. I would assume it isn't anything current.

          K2A vs K2

I'm pretty sure, absolutely same. You can use both in any applicable cartridges with no worry.

Any one know when the K-20 came out and replaced the K-2A?

I need to know if the K-2A will work on a 2001 Saturn. I am sure it will work on a 96 (At least I hope it covers the 96 Ford Taurus?).

Never mind, I went ahead and bought a K-20. Still curious about the answer though.
