So you could communicate with the pcm before you tried to reprogram it. And after reprogram failed now you can not communicate with PCM

If your ptp2 died during reprogramming most of the time it takes the ecm out too. Just like you let the battery die while reprogramming ect. The only thing I know that you can try so that you don't have to buy a new ECM, is that when you load TIS there should be a tab for reprogram and there should be a tab for replace. Try clicking replace tab and you will have to put the VIN # in. That has worked for some when I have tried it.

        Flashing

        Hi Group,

I just wanted to add to this,

This is the one that you are to pull 2 fuses out of the rear fuse box did you do this before you started your programing?

these fuses are to keep some modules from waking up while you are flashing.

Also is there any aftermarket on this thing like remote start/alarm/aftermarket radio all of these should be unhooked before flashing.

You can usually get a salvage yard PCM for under a $100. All you will have to do is relearn the key, and do a crank relearn. The key (or keys) can be relearned using the 30 minute method, so no tech 2 is required. The only draw back is if anyone happens to look at the vin with a scanner they will notice the vin will be different and there's no garantee the replacement PCM has the updated flash. If you get a replacement from a salvage yard make sure they use a reliable cross referencing service, you'll need all the numbers off of the current PCM.

If you go this route you can change the VIN in the PCM by clicking on Replace and Program then reflashing the PCM and entering the vehicles VIN in place of the one stored in the PCM. That is if you want to try this again.

The key relearn procedure is in your Modis, under troubleshooter and tests and procedures. Basically, leave key on for 10 minutes turn off and repeat twice. read up though in troubleshooter

It let you do a crank relearn with TAC codes ? Try unpluging the connector to the fan clutch, I read somewhere that when the fan engages it can mess up the 5 volt reference to the throttle. Also what is the throttle % at idle, try cleaning the throttle body.
