Tabs on multi function turn signal switch broken off F0DB-14489-B connector and connector found unplugged from multi function turn signal switch causing loss of turn signals and hazard lights.
Initially I thought a mechanic may have cracked off the tabs replacing the switch and plugged it back in , but when tilting steering wheel up and down something traps the wire harness and yanks the connector from the switch when tilting steering wheel down. Inspection reveals that the PRNDL indicator cable has been rubbing on the friction tape over the harness and over time, the tape has walked down and bunched up and there is a notch worn into it that hinders any further movement of the wire harness on the top left of the column and when the steering wheel is tilted down the harness wants to tug and disconnect turn signal switch.
