Working on a 2002 GMC Sierra Denali yesterday, VIN: 2GTFK69U621340967, with a problem with the rear steering motor. Motor had been replaced due to an internal failure and system needs to be centered/calibrated before it will function correctly, code C0253. I attempted to perform this procedure with the Verus and 12.4.1 functional tests. There are 10 bi-directional tests available with the Verus but the Alignment function is missing and that is the most important one in my opinion. Had to use a Tech2 to do this. Seems strange that Snap-on has 10 of the 11 available functional tests. All the data parameters were there and fault codes in trouble shooter were there. Even trouble shooter recommends performing the alignment function which the Verus can't do. Tried to ID it as an 03 and same results. Should have tried a few more years I guess.
On another note it would be nice if the Verus could be used in a DEMO mode for all vehicles so we could see what available tests and functions there were to chose from without being connected to the vehicle. (OTC can do this). There are lots of times where a customer will call and ask if I can do a specific test or procedure and I have to tell them I have to be connected to the vehicle to even see if the capability is there. This can be a waste of time for both the customer and myself.
