Working on a 1996 dodge B3500 camper van, base put together in Canada . Using solus pro I get "the detected yr ,10th vin char.doesn't match your selection". Using the vin #10 char. yr, the letter 't' for 1996 if I use 1995 its a 'v' for the yr.
This van had a pcm changed a couple yrs ago and it was suppose to have been programed before it was shipped. I don't know if this is the problem or not . if I go to 1995 I can get to the point it wants a Chrysler #1 adapter plug? I don't have one but the thing is where would that get plugged into? says under dash but only ob11 plug is there?? it wont let me any go any farther with out the plug. I am believing that the pcm wasn't programed right.
Now how to I get this fixed or working proper? Holiday weekend so it will be a couple days before they are open. key 13 doesn't work tried that.
The solus pro works fine on other vehicles just having a bad time with this dodge. Do I need to take this to dodge dealer to get it reprogramed?? or any suggestions before I pull my hair out? thanks for any assistance I can get. Any work around like generic? not sure that's the right word.im tired lol
