My question or rather statement is directed at Snap-On engineers. what functionality constraints will there be when the updates move our scan tools into the 2018 model year?
FCA products are introducing security gateway modules to prevent hacking attempts through the radio or the data link connector. Will the security gateway modules render our scan tools useless in the realm of by-directional controls?
I am curious as to how that is going to go for technicians. I work at a Chrysler dealership and use my MODIS EDGE for most diagnostics that dont require the proprietary scan tool, so I am really interested in what lies ahead in scanner world.
