I bought among many other electrical items from my local dealer a ECF3HPLEDA hand lamp (Battery operated) and charged via a mains adapter, the problem is that snap on have so many different power supplies with varying output currents and voltages, how without snap on putting the code number on the power supply am I supposed to know which power supply is correct without causing damage?

Use your Vantage Pro to determine voltage and a low amp probe to check the amperage output.
