    New Guy Help

Hi there, just bought a SOLUS Edge, and am curious about the "scanner" vs. OBD 2 options. Such as when do you use one vs the other?

    Thank you.

OBD is handy if you have a euro car and do not have the euro software you can at least pull codes. It is also good for the fords that have a intermitent misfire that will not trigger the light you can use mode 6 to display I think it is test id $53 and $51 on older fords.
    hope this helps

Sometimes you just want to check something as quickly as possible with whether a car has completed the OBD monitors or not without setting a pending code, and maybe check where the fuel trims are without sifting through a lot of other PIDS you may not want to look at.

Thanks, so scanner option is more in depth and specific, vs OBD option?
