    Componet test with Verus

I have been trying to do a MAF componet test on this new Verus that has came into our shop. I am hooking up the com to the ground and channel 1 to the signal wire and nothing is coming up on the graph have tried it different ways and no response. Its a GMC Yukon XL with a 5.3 vin z motor. Also I see this thing integrates with shopkey software I was wondering if it would with the plain mitchell version?

    Thanks

The Verus will link with Mitchell.

As far as your MAF problem, first let's see if you can get any signal at all. Go into the Lab Scope not the component test, Ground lead to batt -, channel lead (1) yellow to the signal wire on the MAF, should be the yellow wire at the MAF sensor. In traces, make sure you are set on vlt test lead a 10 volt scale will work, start with the trigger set to none, sweep start with 50 msec, once you get the signal adjust to 1 msec, you should see a square wave signal.

    Let us know?

There is an option in the pulldown menubar, it will let you select either Shopkey or MOD.

How long have you had your Verus, if you have the unit for sometime the option was added later, if you had the unit for sometime the download is "free" from Snap-On as service release. Look for SR1.

So keep an eye out for service releases.

The verus has just arrived at our shop via the Snap On truck and I have been demoing it to see if it will work with our system. We run all mitchell products. Is there a way to see what service release is in it?

Open up the Verus Diagnostic Suite. Click on Help at the top. Click "About Verus Diagnostic Platform". Read the information beside VERUS and FRAMEWORK. That will tell you the software level.

Beside the verus and framework it says 1.2 so is that the most up to date version?

There should be a string of numbers. Can you post a screen shot?

                          Yes, that works.

It has the latest release in it.

I need to correct myself. That is NOT the latest build. That software was what the Verus was originally released with.

The Service Release 1 would have brought it up to Build 457, not 433.

                            Sorry about the error.
