Year 2000 is as low as it goes?

Just fired up my Verus Pro to work on a 98 Volvo V70 Wagon. The thing only goes to the year 2000? You would figure for the amount of money being spent we would get at least 1996 loaded standard.

Anyone know a way to pick up the missing years on this tool?

There is a reason it only goes to 2000. Some kind of design change in controllers. We did not even get Volvo coverage until about 2010-2012 I think.

That's kind of a lame excuse . Earl Chive $999 Port Freight Special seemed to show some coverage for 97 and 98. Whether it actually will communicate with half the modules on the list would remain to be seen.

Before 2000 there is no uniformity in the controllers used. It would be multiple more times costly to add those vehicles..if you want to do it correctly.
