    14 Escape PCM Replacement

If you have to replace the PCM on a new style Escape you will have a code P164D after programming. This is for a corrupt or empty AWD ID block. When replacing the PCM or the Rear Drive Unit a 4 digit code from the RDU must be entered into the PCM to fill the block or update it to the new RDU. Currently this function is not in the Snap On software or FMP, FJDS that I could find. The block did not update when performing the as built update neither is it found in the vehicle parameters menu. So it's IDS or to the local Ford dealer. This seems to be a scanner function and not programmed function such as updating the transmission solenoid strategy.
