This is the best advice yet posted. I also agree with Witsend saying to look for vacuum leaks, EGR valves, DPFE sensors & hoses/tubing.
Once you get to checking the Base Timing, and unplug the Spark-Output connector (SPOUT), it WILL set a code for that circuit being "open", because it IS open. Make sure you do ALL your other code checks first. All 3-code checks. KOEOff, Memory-codes, & finally KOERun.
Don't forget to put a fuel pressure guage on it and VERIFY the fuel pressure, the fuel pressure regulator, and don't forget to check the flow rate and the fuel filter too.
