    Software expires?

That's what this looks like. From another forum where a guy was shopping for a used scanner. Does it really expire?

Not if you buy from a dealer. This pops up when you try to upgrade.

"Try to upgrade" in what way?

This doesn't affect the scanner's function, just a notice about you can't update somehow? Or whatever this person was trying to do.

This also occurs if the computer date changes significantly between the last shutdown and startup.

I believe it also occurs when you try to install an update that was previously installed in another scanner.

So this is a "you can't do that" type message which doesn't affect the actual operation of the scanner? As in you could restart, and continue on with your original software.

This popped up on a used scanner that's for sale that someone else balked on buying because they believe this message to mean the scanner would be unusable.

Skip, are you saying that if you buy a used Verus from other than a dealer, and then take it to dealer to upgrade, this message will pop up and you can't have the upgrade done and it will stop the software from running?

If you try and update OTHER than from a dealer.
