i have never used live data and am just wondering what are typical lamda readings for a petrol vehicle im going to have a play in few days time
thanks all
1 volt sensors will range from ~.1-1 volt, lower being lean and higher rich. Expect to see quick cycling above and below about .5 volts. You want to see at least a .4 volt variance (.2 above and below .5 volts).
Ideally you want to spend some time reading various known good cars and known bad cars. Many vehicles are quite similar, but of course there are oddities. Over time you will develop an understanding of what you are seeing. Practice by adding propane or creating vacuum leaks (MAF and MAP sensor systems react differently to vacuum leaks!). Kill a single cylinder, both ignition and injector and watch how various sensors react. Try to create problems and watch how other inputs and outputs are affected. Most importantly, start going to some training... it is invaluable to your growth as a technician.
