in the late 80:s a pin out chart in a mitchell manual saved my butt on a volvo no run,no start. it took me right to a bad mass air flow sensor, are whatever it was volvo called it. i have to admit with the verus haveing the wave form with the pid i havent had to use a pin out. but when you get to a point where your not sure what your seeing a pin out chart would be a great help, and they are fast and easy to use

I agree that ECM pin outs are a good source of information and we do cover them in some of the manufacturers. This is a big job and time consuming to go in and add them for every year, make, model, system and engine but it can be done (not all at once). It would help if we started out with what vehicles you are working on in the field that doesn’t have the ECM pin outs in the Component Test Meter (CTM).
Let’s use this thread to create a list and we can start with the most popular vehicles. I will compile the list and give you an opportunity to vote on which vehicles to add first. Thanks Jay |

lets focus on the ford 104 pin engine computer. it was used in every ford gasoline(not sure about diesel) engine from 1996 to about 2003. the ecm pinout coverage could be from 1999 to 2003.

have you noticed that the 1999-2002 ford Crown vic now has ECM pinouts. the 2000 & 2001 Ford Escape has ECM pinouts for the 104 pin module. Vertually every BMW for the last 8 years has ECM pinout information. Many Jaguar vehicles Keep dont let this go away, hopefully someday there will be ECM pinout information for every make model and engine. Thanks Dynodave ![]() |
