yes I was referring to mode $6. have a 1999 jeep Cherokee with 4.0 showing $16 fail. like to see what all pids are in dollar . might not have $16 if it involves 3rd o2 sensorComment

no codes, ran some mode 6 tests , some available and some aren't. fuel millage is dropping on vechicle.Comment

Mode-6 data is written BY engineers FOR engineers.
That doesn't mean we can't make use of it but it certainly isn't where I would start.
There are TID's and CID's.
For example I remember the Ford $53 gets you some information on Ford misfires. Some later models I think it uses $58.....
I think the $16 MIGHT be referring to oxygen sensor heaters but you'll have to find the information specific to the vehicle you are working on.
See what you can find on the SAE 1850 protocol.
Just use the data stream the scanner shows you.Comment

The $ is an indication the code is written in hexidecimal. That is a number system based on 16 rather than the 10 we are used to. It uses letters for the upper numbers instead of digits. A=10, B=11, etc up to F=15. Like was said before, high level engineering stuff.Comment

Both Mitchell and AllData have the same chart.
Not much to go on and a post cat oxygen sensor may have some influence on fuel delivery I bet there is more than that going on.
The normal data stream and fuel trims will tell us more than just $16 failComment
