Default Modis battery polarity

Can someone test their modis battery and tell me what the polarity is? I took my battery pack to a local builder and it's been a nightmare. First one the battery was 0 volts. Second time the battery worked but had no voltage on the middle terminal so it wouldn't charge. Third time, didn't work at all. And most recently, I went in and it's still not working apparently they switched the polarity?

I have attached a picture of what I believe to be the correct polarity. I disassembled the modis and traced out the "+" on the silk acreen which appears to be the black wire.

EDIT: after the 2nd time, they apparently replaces a capacitor for the middle terminal, wondering if whatever they did here is causing the problem.
