Solus Pro and GM CKP relearn

    2001 Cheby S-10 2.2
    1GCCS145418192805

SOLUS PRO would not perform ckp variation relearn. My MODIS would.

It would go through process but would sit at the screen where it reads waiting for 4000 rpm.

Just a note for the guys at Snap On.

I also had a 03 Cavalier last week and couldn't get past the 4000rpm screen. Disapointing this was the first job of my new scanner.

        Software Issues

Not defending anyone or any company, but on an 06 Chev van, same thing, could not do crank relearn with a Modis. However could not do it with a factory issued Tech 2(not a copy cat Tech 2) either.

I hate to fall back into my same saying "as long as humans are involved in scan tool software" there are going to be issues. Be it factory or aftermarket.

That is why when all of you ask and make suggestions on what we want to see in our Snap On Tools for diagnostics, I always reply and will continue to reply" more bi-directional tests" and " software issues corrected from one update to the next" so as not to see the same problem in the proceeding software update manifest in the next update.

With that being said, as above, the problems exist in Factory software as well.
You could argue that if the problem exists on the factory tool it may not be caught in the aftermarket. To have the relearn procedure work on a Solus, but not a Modis, well know, that is interesting.

        Just a thought.
