My dealer told me today warranty on scanner only to original buyer. Is this true?

I dont think that is true because you can go out and buy tools off ebay and warranty them if they need to be. I have done it many times and my snapon dealer hasnt given me any problems

I've actually heard of this kind of thing before, not specifically with Span On but with other companies which will only extend the warranty to the original owner- not to subsequent owners. Maybe you could try another dealership?

As long as the Snap-on scan tool is within the warranty period it doesn't matter who owns it. If you do buy a used scanner you should get with your franchisee and have him do a change of ownership.

That's not what I was told by corporate... I was specifically told that it was Non-transferable and only applied to the original purchaser. They even go as far as shutting down ads that state its still under warranty.
