Please "back-up" your database of saved files, because you have to uninstall your current version of Shop Stream Connect. Vista will not allow you to have two versions of the same software. Go to the Shop Stream Connect (SSC)
download page and look at the bottom of the page where it says "if you having trouble download this .zip file". The .zip file contains an older version of the labscope viewer that works on Vista. Download it. You can install this older version on a usb drive. You can't run both old and newer versions at the same time, but you can quit one to look at the other.
First "back-up your database". I have a database that goes back several years, and I wouldn't want to lose it. Uninstall your current version, using the uninstall program in the control panel. Restart the Computer.
After the restart. Insert the USB drive, create a new folder on the USB drive. Unzip the .zip file to that folder. Install that version of SSC, but change the destination drive to the USB drive. This will install SSC to the USB drive and it will run directly from the USB drive. Next if your database files survived the uninstall, or if not you can copy it back to your hardrive if it didn't. (from your back-up)
You can choose that folder as your database for the usb drive. Caution: do not update this version on the usb drive when prompted, or it will quit working.
"Safely remove" the usb device, then you can reinstall your current version of SSC with AATlive access on your computer's hard drive. Update this version when available. You can plug the usb drive in when you want to look at a Labscope file. You can only run one or the other, but not both at the same time.
You can also make a shortcut on your desktop for your database folder, and you can drop your new files on this shortcut, when adding files to your database. "Confirm" that your "new" files were copied correctly before deleting.
Hope this HELPS. Any Questions?
