    Vantage Pro Isuues

Hello all, I purchased a Vantage Pro new last April and have had a reoccuring issue since day 1...The trouble is that when I power the machine down the thing blacks the screen out and locks all functions and the only was to get it to shut off is to yank the battery... The machine has been out to service once already and is out again since my warranty is almost up.. it is quite obnoxious since it will not happen all the time and I'm really not happy about it.... Otherwise it seems to work fine just this issue, although its kind of making me leary of trusting a machine that cant even shut off on its own... just wondering if anyone else is having any similar problems, Thank You

Sounds like a software problem. Your Snap-on franchisee has the ability to perform a software device recovery to resolve most software problems. As far as yanking the battery, that isn't advised and can actually lead to more software issues. There is a reset button - see the picture right out of the Vantage Pro user's manual

they have recovered it several times actually, and as far as the battery pull? im totally against it, but thats what tech assistance had me do... the reset button wont do it, i tried that before i called assistance. the last shop I worked in had a Modis and we got in hellacious trouble because a coworker pulled the battery with it not powered down.. i shouldnt have to do that in my opinion, thank you

        Hi AMX77,

If you're reinstalled the software several times, and it still works incorrectly, it's broken. Have your tool rep send it in for repair. Do this BEFORE the warranty expires.

It's cool that you tried to fix this with the help of Tech Assistance. When that doesn't work, send it in.

thank you joe! Actually like I said in my first post it has been out for service once. I cant recall what they replaced but they did put parts in it. I just wonder if Ive had problems with this machine all along what do I have to do to get the unit replaced? The owner of the shop where I work is looking at the whole verus package, cart and most scope accessories after Ive been praising snap on to them and now they are doubting the possible decision based on the history of this machine? They have never owned snap on diagnostic equipment and have been using vetronix and otc until now... thanks
