Converting VSM Files to other format compare data with other data analysis tools

Is there an external definition for the VSM file? In our Tech College automotive program we are trying to compare data from different sources including our Zeus and Zeus+ scantools. What would be great is to export the VSM file format into something else, at lowest level maybe CSV.

The file's header information looks like XML, but without more information, it isn't clear how to export the trace data for another data comparison tool to use.
