    ssc slows down my dell

I downloaded the shop stream connect onto my Dell, and after i began to have glitch and speed problems getting around in my other programs. It runs Windows Vista, and after talking to my rep, i uninstalled it last night to see what happens. It now works fine, like before. Any thoughts?? I am using it for my MICRO SCAN on my cars, and my work truck. Thanks Chris

Check the following setting in SSC:
    Tools> Options> Auto start
If it is selected (has a checkmark), deselect it. Close SSC, then see if the pc performs the same as when SSC is not installed.

I experienced the same thing. Remove it from the Start menu so it doesn't load every time you start your PC. Everything should be fine after that.

          slows my dell.

Thanks for the reply, but after unselecting autostart, and rebooting, it was a bit better, but not much. Any other suggestions?? It is acting verry jumpy/glitchy, and is still slow to move from screen to screen. Am considering removing it again. It was better after i had uninstalled it before. Help if you can, Thanks Chris

Under Tools > Options, make sure there is no tick in front of the Autostart entry:

Next, hold down the Windows and the R key:

In the window that opens up, enter MSCONFIG and press enter:

            8-28-2012 5-43-42 PM.jpg

In the utility that opens up, change to the Startup tab and look for the ShopStreamConnectAutoStart entry. Remove the tick in front of it (if there is a tick):

Press enter and reboot the system when instructed so.

If you still experience slowdowns, open the Windows Taskmanager and check if there is a process named ShopStreamConnectAutoStart.exe loaded:

If it's not there (and it shouldn't), the slowdown is not caused by SSC.

You needed to check the performance after unchecking AutoStart in SSC and before rebooting. Sorry if I was not clear about that. Because AutoStart is in the startup, when you reboot, it does start running again even though it is unchecked in the options in SSC.
Based on your latest post, it sounds like stopping it with msconfig has returned the performance back to normal.
Removing it from the startup as Joe suggested should also work.
