Vantage and low amps probe EETA308A

Can i use a low amps probe with a vantage not a vantage pro,and how would i hook it up and how can it be usefull? I purchased snappies EETA308A and would like to use it to check patterns from speed sensors and things like that, this tool should become my best friend when i get to learn how to use it any advise is welcome.

I'm not sure how well a low amp probe would work for a speed sensor, more typically you would use it for things that carry a higher electrical load such as coils, motors, alternators and injectors. It works with the Vantage, though the definition is not as clear as with a true scope. In the the main menu go to power user tests, then listed there is current probe tests and instructions for injectors, coils and fuel pump tests are all there.

Yes like the poster above said it will work, I have a non snapon 1 amp to 600 amp probe that works fine on my vantage. The definition is not as clear and lower currents on mine produce a lot of noise. But I have used it for current ramping on coils and pulled a decent little fuel pump waveform. Reletive compression works also.

One trick to get the scale lower is to use the DC frequency mode, the only problem is you cannot record with it in frequency mode.

i use a sealey 600 ampclamp with my vantage pro which you can use on any meter, you just set youre meter to milliamps voltage DC and work from there either in digital display or in graph form.
