to vantage or not too vantage that is the q..........

just a quick post am in a quandry and wonder if any of the good people on here could give opinion
have a solus pro and was looking at going down vantage pro route but also looking at selling on solus pro and going down modis route (while you can still get yer hands on them lol )
am wondering what advantage over the solus pro and vantage pro a modis would have ( am i right in thinking that the modis has a 4 channel scope as a pose to the 2 channel on the vantage pro ? as im new to the scope business (i.e dont have 1 yet please go easy on me ) lol would there be particular advantage to 4 channel as a pose to 2 (im thinking say for eg : injectors 4 at a time etc
cheers for any thoughts much appreciated

it's times like these that i wish snap on had a stand alone 4channel scope for their customers. i like having scope and scan separate, so i have a solus pro and a pico scope. if i absolutely had to have a hand held scope i would probably have a solus pro and a modis . good luck on your decision.

when the modis needs repairs you will send in your scanner and scope together. the solus and vantage pro are seperate tools so you will avoid this. you can scope a sensor and view the scan data for that same sensor with the solus and v-pro. you cannot do this with the modis.

I have a VP and love it but if I were to be able to do it all again, I would get a Pico scope. They are about the same price as a VP, free updates for life, 4 channel, great community. Now don't get me wrong, I would still keep my VP for the mobility factor, but sometimes 4 channels are the way to go. Check out Autonerds.com and look at the prices and all that you get with thier packages.

thanks for the replies so far guys much appreciated
did think pico scope but as youve rightly said the mobility factor is fairly important and also being able to get equipment set up relatively quick (do a fair bit of diagnostic plugging in for other garage)

I bought my Vantage Pro years ago and I never look back. Sure it's two channel, but the amount of jobs that you NEED 4 Channels is pretty slim.

It fires up fast, and has all the manufacturer specifc information in Component Test mode. That can be a major ally to you if you known how to use it.
