I was wondering if anybody has info about a 92 suzuki sidekick A/T 4 speed with a 1.6L 16 valve engine. The car won't start simultaneously when the o/d light flashes. When the o/d light is normal the car starts. Seems to start after sitting for a while. Seems like a wiring/module/relay type of problem. I don't know because I haven't got into it much yet. But while researching it on Alldata I cant find very much info about suzuki sidekick and the transmission control module (TCM). Furthermore, my Vantage Pro doesn't have any info on that make. I was told that the 92 suzuki was similar to geo/chevy tracker and that their info can be used, but couldn't get any info on those either. My Vantage Pro has only geo prizm and later model chevy trackers. When the no start condition is present the sidekick has spark, fuel pressure, and injector pulse (which doesn't make sense) but starts intermittently with the above symptoms of o/d light flashing going away. I haven't checked compression because it will start and run fine intermittently. If anybody has info or suggestions that would be great. Wiring diagrams of the TCM and ECU and relays would be awsome. My email address is hayabeen@gmail.com if anybody has info or diagrams they are willing to share. Thanks

port fuel
It's multi-port fuel injection. yesterday I confirmed that when after it sits the o/d light operates normal and the car starts with no problems. It's a weird electrical/module type problem. It's really irritating that my Vantage Pro doesn't have any info on suzuki makes. I know that the suzuki in 92 flashes out codes with a jumper wire and I did this when the car was flashing the o/d light. The o/d light didn't change it's flashing pattern. I assumed I was doing it wrong. I now believe that when the o/d light is flashing and the jumper self test is initiated to flash codes, the transmission control module (TCM) codes will flash out through the check engine light, as the TCM and the engine control module are communicating through a data line. I thought that if the o/d light was flashing and the self test was initiated the codes would flash out through the o/d light. I believe I was wrong and will check this again when the problem occurs, because it is intermittent. It is really frusterating to pay all that money for the snap on product and not have the coverage I need for the vehicle I'm working on, and then find little info on alldata as well. I wonder if mitchell has the better diagrams and info for suzuki. If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

I am sending you the ECM and TCM diagrams. I am also sending you a diagram of how to jumper the test connector to pull trans codes. Hopefully this will help you some. It's multi-port fuel injection. yesterday I confirmed that when after it sits the o/d light operates normal and the car starts with no problems. Oh, and FWIW, The Verus is awful on Suzuki coverage even on newer cars. I see a lot more Forenzas than I want to see, and fortunately for me I can now pull and clear SRS codes on them... I used to have to call my buddy with his Tech2 to come clear them for me.
I have also found Kia and Hyundai coverage is awful. IMO Snappy really needs to address this, as the number of Kias and Hyundais on the road is growing more than any other manufacturer. However, for what we paid for the expansive coverage we have in our tools, it is hard to complain too much.Comment

I agree. My bosses verus has suzuki as an option, but when you click suzuki it doesn't let you go into suzuki. Anyway those diagrams are awesome. Just what I needed. If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.
