So I bought a haritage vantage I like it version 7 works very well. I would like to upgrade to a vantage pro (and use the older one at home) I have neaver used a piece of snap on diag. equpmint befor but now I am hooked. So if I buy a used one off of EBAY for let us say $1200 vrison 9.4 how much would it cost to upgrade to the max? How much of a discount can I get off a snapy truck on a new one? Yeah I would like to know as well. I bought the Vantage Pro back when it first came out, and it is only updated to version 8.4. If I get it updates to the newest version, how much would that cost? The snap on tool guy never gives me a straight answer, like he doesn't really know much about the diagnostic equipment. Anyway it shouldn't be as much as I've heard. I've heard that if you are behind in updates, let's say 4 versions behind, you will need to pay for all 4 updates to get it updated. That's more than half the cost of a new Vantage Pro. If that is the case/situation, then it is not very feasible to update these tools rather than just get a new one on ebay. That is a drawback of the tool is the tightness/stingyness of the information database by Snap On.If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

You do not get penalized for missing updates other than loosing your bonus pricing for keeping your machine updated consecutively.
Go to the snap-on websight and you see what the cost of 11.4 is but you would probably be better off waiting till 12.4 comes out in the fall.Comment
