Considering Upgrading. Have questions.

Currently we have the Modis Ultra. I have interest in upgrading to the Verus. Word is that the Pros browser is so slow it is not even worth using. I've been trying to find info on the Edge to see if they've improved on this but have been coming up short.

I have friends who use the Pro and claim they never use it for the internet as the speed is annoying. For $10,000 dollars i would certainly appreciate the ability to have internet access with this tool.

To you folks that have used both, or have the Edge, is the internet access speed improved over the Pro?

Yes the speed is greatly improved,Firefox for a my browser I think helps also

I sincerely doubt if you bought a remaining new Pro that it would be even $6500, now that the Edge is out but even with 2 more scope channels and ability to go on the internet "I would Haff-ta Axe Myself" if I traded in my Modis Ultra for a $3500 credit , is the the extra $3000 worth gaining 2 extra scope channels I would rarely need and to be able to watch slow motion bouncing boobies on You Tube with buffering between video downloading? I would likely update my Modis and buy a new laptop. Even with windows 7 32 bit and 2gb of ram in a few years it won't be able to get out of it's own way if you want to use it for Internet use like a laptop.
I also think that the next major update for Verus Pro users should be a hardware update of a new solid state drive with Windows 7 and 16.4 Pre installed. :-))

I really never had a speed issue with any of the Verus units I have owned 4 generations. That being said I guess my Dell laptop is faster and that's not as fast as my android tablet, the Edge seems fast to me(remember I not a speed guy)

Load windows in anything and becomes a slug.

Are you talking about a deal on a Verus Edge or a new left over Verus Pro?
Don't act too hot to pull the trigger. Before I would bend over for any S.O. and say Trick or Treat and settle for Semi Sweet Chocolate ,lol. I think I would have a friend at a shop along the same route see what kinda deal he can get from the rep without any trade to see what he is really giving you for the trade. He should also only charge sales tax on the total after subtracting the trade in credit. No matter what platform you get , it's really the software you are paying for. To put things in perspective If you look at a Better faster Windows tablet with a bigger solid state drive at Microcenter and a 4 channel Hantek USB oscilloscope , it's maybe $500 you are talking Hardware wise, computers these days are like $400 50" LCD tv's are $600 , not $5000 and all the parts manufactured in the same places a Port Freight 08 parts come from.Phone companies upgrade your phone every couple years for a 2 year contract, maybe with 4 year subscription of updates Snappy could toss in the up to date $500 tablet

I wouldn't get a verus pro even for a deal. It's extremely slow for the internet. Actually it's extremely slow in general as well. I got it with the idea of using the internet on it for prodemand identifix etc... It has poor WiFi reception and poor speeds. I walk over to a desktop computer or grab my laptop instead every time.

Maybe Snappy could explore the possibility of selling a Android Verus scope software App to Maxy Cyst owners to run their USB 4 channel scopes with some decent software.
