My hard drive died and has been extracted. Any suggestions on saving the content of the had drive and transferring to a better drive?

recovering hard drive data
Well it depends on how it's failed. I would try installing in an external caddy and see if another computer can read any content. If the motor has failed and it won't spin up I would say your'e hooped. You may be able to read and copy file contents if another computer can see it.
Good Luck

Thanks
That's about what I thought. Sent it to Snap On and was quoted $1200 To replace and reprogram with the standard equipment. Currently, the hard drive is
At a computer repair shop. Hopefully they can clone it to a 500Mb drive of the same dimensions. Very easily removed btw. I also have a Verdict with 15.4. I might have to clone it to a 500Mb drive. I might lose 2 Chanel's on to scope however.Comment

Update
The computer shop says the drive is fine, but he is checking it for corruption. Side note: he says only 5%of the 250Mb is used, no need for a 500Mb driveComment
