Sorry if this is a duplicate post I looked around in here and could not find anything. Has anyone updated the windows xp platform to a newer windows? Nervous to do anything as this scanner works but worried at some point this may have issues. This is more informational rather than something i am actually going to do but i made a backup of everything to hopefully restore to if anything were to happen and that got me to thinking about this.This scanner works fine really not going to upgrade to the new verus until this one goes out. Appreciate any info.

You can't update the OS and still have it work as a scanner. XP Embedded is still supported for 3 more years, so there's no reason to do it.
Your hard drive is partitioned, and it has all the software need to restore itself if you even have software troubles. I have done several System Restorations on my Verus' over the years after I goofed something up.

Item 1A has several backup utilities under it.

Ok so I think I really screwed it up. I had to see for myself and try to upgrade to Windows vista. Because I needed the newer Internet explorer to work with the ford ids and sync programming. Thinking it would be no big deal because I can just do a factory reset if it doesn't work. The problem is the s button is not responding on start upComment
