    2003 Subaru Legacy Wagon

My snap on verus edge with 23.4 Software was unable to connect to this vehicle. We first used a cheapy foxwell and it also said no communication. I busted out my Autel MS906 and was able to talk to it. Any suggestions or a software issue?

I had a same vinatge Forester inhere recently with no communication issues. When I get a nocommuniction issue the first thing I do is bust out the scope and check voltages and grounds at the DLC along with checking the data signals to make sure they are within range and have crisp clear wave form. Some scanners might be better than others at deciphering messy (noisy) signals.

Thanks for the reply. I think its a software issue, Autel being chinese and questionable IP use they seem to work on everything all the time in my experience. I was hoping someone from Snap On would chime in.

          Rick,

I remember running into this on my old Modis 13.2 and had to end up using a cheapy-chinese pocket scanner to get OBD generic data. Had good +/- at DLC as well, just to confirm.

I know it's not directly related to the Verus Edge with that software update, but I have seen it on Subaru's in the past. FWIW.
