Verus Edge won't pick up new scan module

Rep assured me a new M9 module was the available replacement for an M5. The Edge won't recognize it when I try to add it in the '"paired devices" menu. The Edge recognizes the an M4 and M5 module, and scope, just not the M9. Windows sees it as a bluetooth device and connects, not that that helps. Any ideas?

Have you tried using the USB cable to pair it?

Yes. The same USB "data" cable I keep in the box and have been using to update the M5 module for years. But you never know, I'll try a different cable. I've had SO many issues with USB cables over the years.

Nope. Neither cable "communicates" with the module they just power it up.

Just tried with My Verus Edge 24.4 and it paired just fine. But did not try it on a vehicle because it wanted to update firmware and told it later because the Zeus+ is at 24.2 software. But it pair fine.

Rep messed with it and concluded it doesn't jibe with 22.2 and needs a newer version. It connects with the shop Zeus on 24.2 so that may indeed be the issue. Was planning to update with the spring release. Looks like I jumped the gun a bit on this module purchase.
Reckon I can get a refund if/when I buy the update in April (or whenever it is) and it still doesn't work?

              $1080 bucks for that S9!
Was 22.4 the time the S9 came out? Maybe. I think they made a EESM306 (S7) before the EESM306b, the S9.

--- I just checked the "pocket guide" pdf for 22.4: "Ethernet-enabled adapters are required to harness this capability in the tool. NOTE: Requires Bundle 22.4 software or newer."

Check out this page for more info for DOIP and the CSM's

I knew I should have bought an M5 when they came out at $800. But no....I had to slack around and put it off. Anyway, I don't want this expensive toy to gather dust until the spring update so I'm negotiating 24.4. After which I'll return to confirm or deny it worked. I expect it too. Being into for over two grand, it BETTER.

OK. Went 24.4 and the M9 module picked right up. So Zeus owners might want to be aware that if they lose their scan modules and need a replacement, their software will need to be up to date for the replacement to work.
I can't say this doesn't seem more than a little skewy and doesn't jibe real well with my 30+ years experience of dealing with hardware versus Windows issues.

A fun thing to notice is that through however many revisions they've made to the module no one has ever seen fit to redesign it so it plugs into the vast majority of cars "face up". That's bugged me since the Zeus first came out.

OK, to be fair. I got in a Transit the other day and its connector was reversed so the fob was "face up". That one time anyway.
