Has Any One Installed Ford Vcm/ids Software Not The One For Just A Reflash?

MY PROBLEM IS VCM/IDS SOFTWARE REQUIRES NET FRAMEWORK 3.0 TO BE INSTALLED .... THE VERUS BEING XP EMBEDED IT WONT LET ME ,ANY IDEAS?
HAS ANY ONE INSTALLED A REGULAR VERSION OF XP ? IF SO HOW DID YOU DO IT AND HOW DID YOU RE INSTALL VERUS SOFTWARE WITH OUT LOOSING THE license OR THE (IMAGE)?

Ford IDS

Hello John

I did install the Ford IDS software and when I received that message I believe there was an option to bypass it or ignore it. I was able to continue the install. You will then need to go on-line and find the necessary driver for the VCM afterwards. I believe that this is the file referred to during the install. It is called RTLUSBNT.126_xp.zip. This should install the necessary driver for the VCM to work. I believe that complete versions of XP had this driver already. Mine works fine except for my VCM requiring an update now.

ON A DIFFRENT NOTE I ALSO UPGRADE MY MEMORY AT THE SAME TIME TO 1 Gb AND NOW IT WONT LET ME USE THE VERUS DIAG. PROGRAM EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS , ANY IDEAS

Hi,

I installed IDS on my Verus and it only asked me for "wceusbch.sys" and a Realtek driver "RLTK8051.sys", I found them both on another XP machine and loaded them with a flash drive when prompted.

It never asked me for a .NET framework or anything else.

I downloaded IDS from the Motorcraft Service website, I did not use the DVD to load it, maybe that version works better as I have been told about the .NET thing before, but IDS works well here.

IDS on Verus

I've been running IDS on Verus units since 2008, I started with the original Verus Classic and now runs it on my Verus Wireless. I like the screen size better on the Verus wireless, and right about the time I installed it the Verus Pro, Ford stopped the multiple tool installs. I then stopped using Ford IDS on my Verus Pro.

I then put Mazda IDS on the Verus Pro and now have Mazda IDS on the Verus Edge. Mazda IDS doesn't seem to care how many units its on. I use the same VCM between Ford and Mazda,

Both work well, but occasionally have USB to VCM comm issues on the Wireless, may have something to do with the USB ports or VCM Cable.

I usually get one message when I install new versions of Ford IDS on the Verus Wireless, it's looking for the RTL1850 driver which is in Windows>Drivers> ( don't remember exactly) and it is highlighted in BLUE.

I used to get the framework 3.0 message but that been gone since I reimaged to a newer version XP Embedded. .

When using your Verus edge and the IDS. Do you get a lock up when you disconnect the VCM from the Verus Edge?

It might be a $8000 Snap On Edge but like any anything attached to a $300 Best Buy windows tablet, it likely has a little hidden icon in the task bar on bottom to select safely remove or eject USB devices. If it's blue tooth connected it might have a option to un-pair or disconnect.

No. Not that I have noticed. It's possible that I shut it off after each use, but odds are that doesn't happen every time..so I think I'm pretty safe saying it doesn't happen on mine.
