    Encouraging More Feedback on Questions

Nick, you know how you sort of set the rules on the general discussion forum on ShopKey5 with the opening paragraph for each Part ? Currently it seems to me that there is about a 1 in 10 confirmed fix ratio of questions asked on Sure Track. I was considering that it would be helpful to have somewhere in the opening page or in the question asking instructions, a Paragraph that sort of sets the tone for proper etiquette for participation in Sure track. Maybe some sort of mission statement about building an information resource for future use. I would also put something in there about how most of us are volunteering are time to help with the goal of getting some feedback and building a resource. I really don't care about points but knowing what the fix was is very useful. Maybe even personalizing it as ShopKey did with a featured member each month would help. More people would get involved in answering questions if they knew that they were helping and not throwing their time away. Just some ideas.

Hey , even if you didn't fix the car , some of us would like to hear details about how the car managed to beat you , otherwise if you have more than 3 unclosed posts . Your name is gonna get placed on the cover page of Candidates For Hall of Shame for those who can't fix a sandwich.

I have in my list of wanted features, a welcome message that comes up when someone first signs up and when they go to ask their first question. This would give guidelines on how to ask questions and the reminder about how it is important to close the question.

I also have an item for closing a question with no fix.

The biggest problem right now is that the system for reminding people to close their questions is turned off. This has caused a huge backlog in the latest questions list. I was actually sending e-mails myself and that was helping but then we started having problems with the site so I stopped.

      I'll keep working at it.
