    FIAT 1997 COUPE connection

    Car: fiat coupe 1997, 2.0L 20V turbo cat = 175.A3.000

    Possible faulty 'AFL-1' adapter ??????

Solus Pro, says attach adapter 'ALFA-1' (mt2500-81) (new lead).

Machine reports back, no power from car, then fit single power lead (red / bat. positive) into AFL-1 and retry.
    STILL NO POWER.

Using multimeter, 12v present at 5mm round jack plug prior to fitting to AFL-1.

Any idea's as to what im doing wrong ?
I am supplying only a live supply to the adapter as the solus pro does not tell me to add any power leads at all.

Hi, the only lead i took with me was the single power lead to run from the battery, will see if i can plug back in before the weekend with the ciggy lighter flylead which has both NEG an POS leads then plug this into the AFL-1 adapter and see what happens.

Also requested this advise from SO UK, also enquired to adapter lead testing and what is the warranty on them, will sit back and see what returns, thenk you again for your input Mark

Spot on matey, im assuming then that ALL the OBD adpaters with the 5mm jack plug oin the side will require the -ve an +ve lead fitting and not just +ve.

And to think, SO HO UK havent even contacted me over this or commented.

will do it no harm to connect them both..i think its the fiat lead that only needs them both connecting,at least this way youve got a good batt earth rather than shared through the ecu or possible multi earth points on the diag lead.
