Ethos no SAAB coverage

HI Guys

I know ETHOS is the basic starter equiptment but it still cost me a £1000 without a lead kit(need to discuss this with my dealer) but I digress.
Today tried to diagnose my friends 2002 SAAB 9-3 2.2 diesel and found no coverage in EOBD and it won't comunicate with it!!!!!
Pluged in a £50 quid code reader and got the code straight away!

You/ve possibly scanned my threads - there is NO SAAB on the solus pro either so there wont be any on the other models either - although i am lead to believe a possible read if you read it as a vauxhall ?

Diesel's where had to be eobd complient by 2004 and petrols by 2001, so that lets SO off the hook, but yes like you, i have come across cheap £100 machines will communicate with cars that the SO (SUN MACHINE) wont.

Likewise, we get manufacturers added to the database, FOREIGN manufacturers, rather than the UK manufacturers and very common cars in the uk market, eg the states get JAGUAR & SUZUKI, they write the software etc to cover it, does SO based in CORK supply software for these COMMON vehicles on our roads.. NOPE, dealers ? i would like to get hold of a flyer for the latest upgrade to talk to them about it, think 12.02 will be out before this happens.

No, that's not true. Jaguar is not available as a supported manufacturer in Snap-ON Products here in the States. Suzuki? I have heard rumors, but for now it is not available either.

We can use all the coverage we can get, just keep making your case! We got luck here with Land Rover because you guys had it and they adapted it to the US versions of those vehicles.

NOt seen a dealer for a LLOOONNNNNGGGGGG time now, so unaware of software an any christmass offers or summer offers that have been missed, im only going by what i read on this website for 10.2,10.4 an so on, atleast in the states you have this facility, you know a little of what you are getting, when us UK's see this, we know full well we are NOT getting. There is NO website where we can access such a sales brochure based on upgrades on how the product is progressing forwards??if forwards is the right word to use.

The phrases an answers here in the UK, that manufacturer very rarely has problems, doesnt break down so they dont get added, reading it like that, i should look at a car in the street, make sure its not on the software and then i know, yipppeee TROUBLE FREE motoring.

Oh yes, im working in the back ground to get info where i can, we all pay for a SNAP ON PRODUCT, be it a tool or book or PC SOFTWARE, we should all get the back out an support that goes with the name S.O, iwill more than likely get banned an barred from the group, but that will simply make their problem worse.

S.O - stop brushing email under the carpet, ask yourself, why does this person email all an sundry, think about it, no 1 replys with the required info / answer, surely this should open your eye's to your customer service and down falls as WE ALL HAVE DOWN FAll's .

I will praise where praise is due, likewise i will also highlight where something falls down.
